FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM
The Calgary Apollo Softball Association (CASA) League is committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming environment for all 2SLGBTQ+ individuals who are passionate about softball. We understand that financial barriers can sometimes prevent people from participating in sports leagues. To address this challenge, we are proud to offer a financial assistance program to help eligible 2SLGBTQ+ individuals 18 years and older living in Calgary, AB, cover the costs associated with joining our league.
Financial Assistance Program
Eligibility Criteria ​
​To be eligible for financial assistance from CASA, you must meet the following criteria:

Identify as a member of the 2SLGBTQ+ community: You must self-identify as belonging to the 2SLGBTQ+ community.​​

Be 18 years of age or older: You must be at least 18 years old on the date of application
​

​Be a resident of Calgary, AB: You must currently reside within the city limits of Calgary, Alberta, Canada.​

Demonstrate financial needs:​​

Provide a brief explanation: In your application email, please provide a brief and concise explanation of your current financial situation and how financial assistance would help you participate in the CASA League.​

Consider including (optional): While not mandatory, you may choose to include supporting documentation to further demonstrate your financial need. This could include (but is not limited to):

A recent pay stub or proof of income

Documentation of government assistance programs (e.g., Employment Insurance, Canada Child Benefit)

A brief statement outlining any recent financial hardships

Applications must be submitted to CASA by Friday, February 7th, 2025.
Notification of successful applicants will be provided by Monday, February 10th, 2025.

How to Apply
If you are interested in applying for financial assistance from CASA, please send an email to info@casaleague.ca. In your email, please outline how you meet the eligibility criteria listed above, including a brief explanation of your financial need. You may also choose to include any supporting documentation as outlined above.

Selection Process
Applications for financial assistance will be reviewed on a rolling basis by a designated committee within CASA. We will prioritize applicants who demonstrate the greatest financial need and a strong commitment to participating in our league.
​​Important Note: CASA is only able to sponsor a limited number of players per year.

Confidentiality
All information submitted as part of the financial assistance application process will be kept confidential by CASA.
