MX CASA
MX CASA is our biggest social event of the year. Our leagues amateur KINGs & QUEENs go head to head to help raise funds for local LGBTQ2S+ non for profits that support our Calgary community. With the help our our CASA Kings & Queens, we have raised over $79,000 all the years of MX CASA. Local drag Kings and Queens will help prepare our CASA Kings and Queens for their first drag performances.
Tip your favourite King or Queen as they death drop (or geriatric fall) in support of an incredibly important organization in our community.

Reigning Queens
Pride Slam
This is our annual fun one-day tournament held Pride Weekend! Players register online and are randomly placed on teams. This is a great way to meet new people and have fun. There are prizes for the winning team as well as other fun things throughout the day. Make sure to be a part of this tournament. This year's Pride SLAM will take place on Saturday, September 5, 2026.
Players will be placed on teams in advance of the tournament and will play three games.
There will be no requested buddies this year to make sure everyone is meets new people.
Prizes, lunch and non-alcoholic beverages will be provided.
Make sure to show your pride on the diamond with a sporty pride outfit!
Annual General Meeting
Every year after the season is over, we hold an annual general meeting (AGM) to review league bylaws, elect board member positions, review finances, and receive feedback to make next year's season even better. We really need your input at our AGM!
We have a Special Resolution this year that proposes to amend our league bylaws to add the position of Director, Governance and Oversight to the CASA Board. Please see the documents below for the resolution.
This year's CASA AGM will take place on Wednesday, October 14 at Twisted Element from 7-9 pm.

The Board positions up for nomination for the 2027 season are:
PRESIDENT (1-year term)
(a) Chief Officer of the Association, responsible for the League’s operations;
(b) Liaise with organizations such as the City of Calgary and other sports organizations;
(c) Obtain field permits for the season which include regular playfields, practice fields, and CASA Pride Slam event;
(d) Enforce the association’s League rules and bylaws;
(e) Responsible for overseeing and managing all internal and external communications and delegating as required;
(f) Maintain and administrator the League’s email account and Team Snap in collaboration with the Vice President and the Secretary;
(g) Chair all general, special meetings and the annual general meeting; (h) One (1) of two (2) Signing Authorities on cheques/e-transfers; and
(i) Provide assistance to other Board Members as required.
VICE-PRESIDENT (2-year term)
(a) Organize the Player Draft;
(b) Chair all meetings when the President is unable to attend;
(c) Distribute the player ranking tool to each Team Captain and collate the results at the end of the season;
(d) Responsible for communications in the absence of the President;
(e) Maintain and administrator for Team Snap in collaboration with the President and the Secretary;
(f) Act as a liaison/organizer between the Board and the Team Captains; and
(g) Provide assistance to other Board Members as required.
TREASURER (2-year term)
(a) Maintain accurate records of all monies received and dispersed by the League;
(b) Prepare annual Budgets and Financial Statements;
(c) Prepare Monthly Financial Statement for the Board;
(d) Prepare a Financial Report for all General Meetings;
(e) One (1) of two (2) Signing Authorities on cheques/e-transfers;
(f) Submit/Process annual Society Filings; and
(g) Provide assistance to other Board Members as required.
SOCIAL MEDIA COORDINATOR (2-year term)
(a) Create and deliver social media communications and updates for the Association including events, news, game times, and cancellations etc. via various social media platforms as set out by the
Board;
(b) Engage with services to facilitate social media communications including, but not limited to,
photographers and social media programs;
(c) Promote sponsor services, events, and news through social media tactics and content; and
(d) Provide assistance to other Board Members as required.
EVENTS COORDINATOR (2-year term)
(a) Plan and stage fundraising activities and social events for the Association (e.g. Mx CASA, CASA Pride Slam, CASA Classic); and
(b) Provide assistance to other Board Members as required.
MEMBER-AT-LARGE (3 total positions, each a 1-year term)
(a) Assist in facilitating communications within the Association; (b) Act as liaison to the association’s members;
(c) Assist the Events Coordinator with all activities and social events for the Association (e.g. Mx
CASA, CASA Pride Slam, YYC Pride Parade);
(d) Control and maintain all Association equipment (e.g. bases & balls); and
(e) Provide assistance to other Board Members as required.
(f) Engage in community outreach and assist with facilitating meetings and conversations. (d) Boards shall be elected by ballot.
(e) The Board shall assume office following the close of the Annual General Meeting.
